His perspective on running - - a sport that can cause extreme moments of both glory and pain – is sharp, real and so very, very, very funny. Schwartz covers all the basics with an extremely witty voice and runner’s hard earned experience. A fantastic and hilarious read!"

"The master of this genre is the veteran humorist and runner, Bob Schwartz. He has contributed to many running publications, including this one, and now his humorous insights are compiled into this very wonderful and humorous book."
“But there is more to the book than laughter (of which there is a lot!). Schwartz has been running and writing for years, and mixed in with all the funny stuff are generally valuable insights about all things running. We have a lot to learn from Schwartz’s experience and from his tremendous sense of humor."

"The title may give you a clue to the treat you are in for - and without further ado I present I Run, Therefore I Am – NUTS! The book is authored by a delightful talent of wit and humor, and of course some depth of running experience.
The humorist has a name - Bob Schwartz - and many of you have already made his acquaintance with his amusing essays. I will promise that you will again chuckle and nod in agreement as you see yourself in this book too.
Every runner that has ever shoved a callused foot into a running shoe will find Bob handles everything from Carbo Loading to the Agony of Da Feet in a witty and spot-on manner.
Not only is Bob Schwartz a delightful writer, he has also been pounding the ground as an avid runner for more than 25 years. So he knows of what he writes . He is well known in mainstream running media and in addition to that has his own weekly syndicated newspaper column. Add to that the hundreds of essays published in regional and national publications such as Runner’s World, Footnotes and many others, and you get the idea that Bob Schwartz is just what all runners need this year. He does, after all, celebrate running, life and the well thought quip ... (continued at http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/242/85603)

“Every true runner will get a laugh out of this book. Schwartz does a good job pointing out the wonderful absurdities of our sport.”

"Author Bob Schwartz has taken our penchant for the, ahem, unusual and turned it into a very funny, entertaining and self-illuminating book. Throughout I Run, Therefore I Am – Nuts!, runners will recognize and maybe even identify with most of the short pieces, sometimes giving that knowing smile, and most times laughing out loud. Schwartz hits just about every aspect of running from stretching, shoes, injuries, diet, "the wall," drinking on the run, you name it. He "revisits" (maybe even "revises") history, with a version of the first "marathon" in Greece 2500 years ago. But he's right up-to-date, too, with "virtual running miles" (which appeared in Michigan Runner), Kenyan runners, and sports gels.
If we read closely, we find he paints these topics not only with the brush of humor, but also wisdom. But mostly, Schwartz is funny. (Continued at http://www.michiganrunner.net/features/irun0202.html

"When I started reading Bob Schwartz's new book I Run, Therefore I Am – Nuts! I discovered a new dimension to that state of euphoria in which runners spend their lives. In a mere 260 pages, Schwartz captures the multifaceted life of the runner, poking fun at our way of life as only a runner could. With bragging rights for twenty marathons and a 2:42 PR, he has certainly experienced the humorous side of running about which he writes. (Continued at http://running.syr.edu/column/20011126.html)

"I have been a runner for over 30 years and in that time have read countless books on running and I must say I have NEVER read a work which captures the true essence of we "nutty" runners as Bob Schwartz's book, I Run Therefore I am – Nuts! Mr. Schwartz spots the humor in our running addiction and exposes it’s heart and soul. The book is a collection of essays, which are brilliantly funny and cover everything from why we run to how we turn our training into a way of life. The humor is self-effacing and gently prodding and so utterly accurate that I laughed and laughed with each turn of the page. Excellent! I recommend it to any runner who has a tendency to take his running too seriously to those runners just getting started and wondering if they are...NUTS!! Write on!! "
